Manor Open Day
Slough & Windsor Railway Society
invite you to
an Open Day at their meeting place, 'Slough Manor'.
Saturday 30th March – 10:00-17:00
at
The Manor (by Slough Station)
Come along to:
- Have a chat about the Society or railways in general
- Look inside the odd-shaped wooden Victorian building
- Marvel at the railwayana all over the walls and ceiling
- Visit our museum, dedicated to the works of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and his broad gauge railway
- View our exhibition model railway layouts:
- Slough Estates Sidings (O-gauge)
- Taplow (OO gauge, under construction)
- Have a go at driving a train on the club's model railway (children or adults!)
SWRS members will be on hand to answer your questions about the Society, our model railway club, and "Slough Estates No.3", our steam locomotive that used to work on the Slough Trading Estate railway.
Entry is free although donations would be very welcome!
(Looking after a Victorian meeting place, and a 100-year-old steam locomotive is an expensive business.)
Directions:
The Manor is the brown wooden building adjacent to Slough station, opposite Slough Bus Station, and accessed from the road to the West Car Park.
From the station it can be seen next to the Windsor Branch platform, next to the Stoke Road bridge.
